Denson is an award-winning cinematographer of international feature films, high-end television series and feature documentaries. His recent credits include THE BUTLER, shot in the UK and starring Jean Reno and Tom Hollander, and NO WAY OFF, a nocturnal thriller shot in Belfast starring Academy Award-nominated actress Maria Bakalova. He also shot the Sky Cinema feature film THE COLOUR ROOM, starring Phoebe Dynevor and Matthew Goode, and the epic historical fiction OPHELIA, shot in Prague and starring Daisy Ridley and Naomi Watts.

Denson won the prestigious Milli Award - Australian Cinematographer of the Year for his work on the Working Title/BBC2 series THE LUMINARIES, starring Eva Green and Eve Hewson. Other credits include MOUNTAIN BOY, the award-winning Emirati film shot in the UAE; MEASURE OF A MAN, with Donald Sutherland, Judy Greer and Luke Wilson; set-up DP on the Sky TV series DOMINA, with Kasia Smutniak and Isabella Rossellini; episodes of the ITV series VICTORIA (Series II) and the crime drama GRACE; and he was DP of the reshoots for the Academy Award-winning GET OUT, including its tone-setting opening scene.

His films and documentaries have won awards and screened at major international festivals including Sundance, Cannes, Toronto, Venice, Tribeca, Clermont-Ferrand, Berlin and LA. In 2005, Denson was accredited by the Australian Cinematographers Society (ACS), and in 2015 by the New Zealand Cinematographers Society (NZCS).

 

Originally from New Zealand and part Maori, Denson is an Australian Film Television and Radio School alumni. Currently based between Sydney and London, he continues to shoot projects all over the world.
